Team Kawakubo Shirt by Les Plus Dorés

12 Oct 2012 / in Fashion by

I haven’t posted any fashion stuff in a while , not because there was a lack of interesting pieces coming out but moreso because my generation whores stuff out and makes stuff super corny , super fast lol.

Here we have some Jersey Shirts By Les Plus Dores. Each shirt features a name of a fashion designer and the last 2 digits of their birth year as theyre number . ( IE: Hedi Slimane was born in ’68 , so his jersey reads “Slimane 68″ clever right ?)

“Tisci, Philo, Simons: If you had to draft a dream team of designers, a starting lineup wearing these names would catapult you to the top of the league. In that stylish sporting spirit comes new line Les Plus Dorés (French for “the most golden”), where fashion’s heavy hitters have their names and birth years emblazoned across T-shirts and sports jerseys. Twenty-one-year-old creative director and founder Benjamin Fainlight dropped his first limited collection of tees back in the summer, with Team Slimane shirts selling out within hours of going live on the label’s website. “We decided to start the Dream Team because there wasn’t an easy way to show your fashion taste or allegiance,” says Fainlight. “We haven’t heard from any designers that we’ve featured, but we hope they’re fans as well!” Comme des Garçons supporters will get their kicks as the new Team Kawakubo shirts went on sale at noon today. Up next? A brick-and-mortar opportunity to shop Les Plus Dorés at Browns in London where the sold-out series, including Tisci and Philo, will be available.”

Cruise Life: An Interview with Nick Diamond

04 Jun 2012 / in Fashion, Interview by

Having gotten its start in the late ’90s as a hardware company, Diamond Supply Co. has grown exponentially over the past 14-plus years, becoming one of the biggest and most well-known brands in the skateboarding and streetwear industry today. We recently had the opportunity to sit down with the man behind the brand, Nick Diamond himself, in Diamond’s newly opened facility. In the interview, the creator and designer touches on the origins of Diamond Supply Co., its upcoming 15th anniversary, the growth of the brand and its subsidiaries, the changes in the streetwear and skating industries over the past decade, and even some of his own personal goals and hobbies outside of the workplace.

We’re here at Diamond’s new facility, can you talk a little bit about that? How it came about, how long it took and what your goals are with the space?
This is actually our first warehouse that we did on our own. We used to always drop-ship and ship from our manufacturers. We only did a little bit of shipping out of our old office. We were growing so much and wanted to do everything in-house on our own, so we got this big warehouse to basically have our own shipping facility and office. We built 7,000 sq-ft of offices in a 23,000 sq-ft warehouse and used the rest for shipping, and we also have a big mini ramp bowl to skate in. It’s nice to have everything in-house: all our production people, warehouse people, sales, marketing, all under one roof. Before we were all scattered throughout different offices, people’s houses and around LA. So now we’re like really up and running officially. Check out the full interview after the jump. Read more →
